Patience Requires Peace

Probably my most intense trial in this life so far has been based on the foundation of patience. To wait, and endure, and to be still require so much will power and personal dedication for someone who naturally wants to get things done once I know what I want to do or need to do.  Personal, heartfelt and sincere prayers fill my days. I yearn for the Holy Spirit to be my constant companion because when it is absent, the waiting becomes almost unbearable. The words in the hymn, "Be Still, My Soul", resonate within me throughout the day and bring me peace during moments of weakness...

"Be still, my soul: The Lord is on thy side;
  With patience bear thy cross of grief or pain.
Leave to thy God to order and provide;
In ev'ry change he faithful will remain.
Be still, my soul; Thy best, thy heav'nly friend
Thru thorny ways leads to a joyful end."
